Dawn Nelson
Osseo Area Schools
Dawn Nelson is the Instructional Media and Technology Coordinator with Osseo (MN) Area Schools. Their initiatives include a program which allows students to bring their own technology to school and a technology staff development program which received the ISTE Seal of Alignment in January, 2012. Her passion for technology, books, libraries, and learning is a perfect fit with today’s school libraries and she has been a teacher-librarian in both elementary and secondary schools. She is a Past-President of MEMO (Minnesota Educational Media Organization) and served on the 2011 AASL Conference Committee. Besides her day job, she enjoys music, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

This featured workshop will focus on the legal, ethical, and technical aspects of eReaders. The goal is to give librarians and library staff the broad info they need to help patrons access and manage mobile digital content. Discussion will include examples of effective eReader use in a variety of libraries and tips on creating accessible eBook and eReader collections. (Additional registration fee.)
